Resources & Links for Adult Students Learning English Online

Learning Resources

Learning English has never been easier! I have created a list of great sites and resources to help you study. Some links are for grammar and writing in English while others have video and pronunciation. If you don’t have or use a dictionary, you should! There are so many options for dictionaries! Which is the best? I recommend the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary since it is user friendly and offers an ESL Learner dictionary, too. This powerful site is great if you are learning word origins/etymology, or are curious about the history of the English language.

This list will be updated often and has resources and links from English speaking North America, the USA & Canada, but also British and Australian. In other words, you get many of the Anglophone accents in English. This is important because you will always meet people who do not speak English as clearly as your teacher does. Similarly, there are many activities, games, newscasts, as well as reading, listening, pronunciation, phonics, listening, writing, and grammar links.

I love learning, and, because I enjoy it, I have included a list of FREE online courses that you can enroll in—after registering/signing up—and begin learning even MORE english! Also, these sites have courses from the BEST universities in the world. For example, there are many courses from Harvard, MIT, Penn, Oxford, etc.

We think all of the links and resources are great, but which was the most useful to you? Leave us a comment below detailing which. Happy practicing!
